# Build Community

> Build Community is an open digital platform in South Africa connecting skilled construction artisans, handymen, and trade labourers directly with homeowners, project managers, and clients without middlemen.

Build Community enables artisans (painters, bricklayers, plumbers, roofers, handymen, and other construction trades) to showcase verified profiles, manage appointments, and bid on quote requests. Clients can search for available artisans in their area, evaluate ratings and verified credentials, and request direct quotes.

Open jobs are public quote requests (title, description, skills, South African suburb, scheduling window). There are no per-job public URLs; the live list updates as clients post or close requests. Artisans must log in to submit a price offer.

## How It Works

- **Open jobs (quote requests)**: A client describes the work; artisans discover matching requests and bid. Typical trades include painting, bricklaying, plumbing, roofing, electrical, carpentry, and general handyman work.
- **Finding an Artisan**: Clients can post a quote request, search available artisans on a map by location and day rate, or browse artisan profiles by skill.
- **Finding a Job**: Artisans register trade skills and operating area, review matching quote requests, and submit direct price offers. They can also broadcast live availability for immediate callouts.
- **Ratings & Verification**: Community ratings, verified credentials, safety compliance badges, and work history establish trust between artisans and clients.
